Events

As part of our work this term on the Sea theme we are hoping to arrange a visit to the Seaside! This will be a wonderful opportunity for the children to apply all their learning about visits to the seaside now and in the past and to get a feel of life on an island. We will also be holding a ‘Pirates and Princesses’ day in the second half of term. Details on these events will follow shortly. The School is also receiving a visit form the Life Education Bus to support our PSHE work this half term.

Homework Timetable

Children in Year 1 and 2 are expected to read regularly with an adult at home. Children will read their home reading book with the teacher every fortnight but will also read with their teacher in guided reading sessions. On the week where the child does not read their home reading book in school, it will be changed by an adult helper.

A new homework policy is coming online and will be shared with parents in the week commencing 15th September 2008.

Uniform

Just a reminder- please ensure that all clothing is named and no jewellery is worn except for watches and studs or sleeper earrings.

PE/Games Kits

PE Kits need to be in school on a Monday and will be sent home on Fridays. Please ensure that all children’s clothes are named.

Wider Opportunities

Year 2 have really enjoyed their Ocarina lessons with Mrs Leverett and have made huge progress in their musical capabilities. For this term Miss Swepstone will be continuing the pupils ocarina lessons. Children need to bring their ocarina in to school on a Monday this term.

Late arrivals

Children are expected to be in school promptly at 8.55 a.m.  We ask that children are in the playground from 8.50 a.m. ready for the whistel to blow.  Any late arrivals need to report to the office through the main entrance - our 'Single Point of Entry'.
